Story

Hi, I am Rohit. I build things. Some of them on purpose. I teach and I learn, constantly, which my friends describe as “a lot”.

I like problems that sit between two fields. Chess and software. Brains and hardware. People and the systems they page at 3am. My projects try to make hard things, like neuroscience, feel easy enough for everyone. Then I add jokes, because a lesson you laugh at is a lesson you keep.

  1. 1. e4 8 Told at 8 that his language ought to dream lambdas. 12 quiet years later, Java agreed. Maybe it was me.
  2. 2. Nf3 14 Finished graduate level C++ coursework at 14 and took home the programming prize. I pocketed the medal and kept walking.
  3. 3. Bb5 15 15 years building distributed systems. Some fell apart by accident. Rest fell apart on purpose. We called that chaos engineering.
  4. 4. O-O 15M Led teams streaming live sports to 15 million fans. A single skipped frame is pure heartbreak. None of them called to say thanks. In our craft, that silence is the highest praise.
  5. 5. Re1 42% Reshaped teams into product cells. Incidents got fixed 42% faster. The pager got bored. I did not.

  2. II The org chart fixed our incidents. Product cells, a pager, and the 42% nobody believed until the graph did. II
